Twenty thousand visitors are expected to attend Troy's 37th annual Victorian Stroll this Sunday. Many of them will be in need of parking. One of the Collar City’s newest culinary additions, River Street Market, is offering a convenient way for people to start their Stroll with free parking and brunch specials.
River Street Market is a premiere food hall, with six restaurants, located on the first floor at 433 River Street. The building, which is recognizable for its iconic red smoke stack, is flanked by hundreds of permit-only parking spaces normally reserved for tenants.
This Sunday, Dec. 8, First Columbia LLC, owners of 433 River Street, will offer free parking for those attending the Stroll. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, park at First Columbia’s lots and take advantage of brunch specials at River Street Market starting at 10 a.m.
The River Street Market restaurants open for the Stroll are: Sweet Sue’s Copper Pot, serving salads and sweets; Maria’s, serving smoothies and bowls; Hatch Test Kitchen, serving ramen; Prime Burger and Shakehouse, serving burgers and milkshakes; and Luka’s, serving charcuterie, draft beer and wine.
All of those restaurants will offer their normal menus, which can be found at http://www.riverstreetmkt.com
Three of the restaurants will offer the following Victorian Stroll brunch special additions:
Sweet Sue’s Copper Pot will serve french toast bread pudding with rum creme Anglaise for $9 and Croque Monsieur with dijon bechamel for $10.99
Maria's will be offering lavender hot chocolate for $3.50 and gluten-free scones for $4.
LuKa's will be serving an open-faced Italian Benne with truffle cream, porchetta, arugula, homemade ricotta, and poached egg on sun-dried tomato focaccia for $13. Drink specials include Black Velvet Hot Toddy, and Hot Buttered Rum for $9
There will be live music by the Albany Holiday Trombone Quartet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Corry Loveday will perform from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Each River Street Market restaurant and tenants of 433 River Street will be competing in a holiday tree decorating contest. The winning tree will earn a $1,000 donation from First Columbia to a charity selected by the restaurant. Public voting ends at 4 p.m. with the winner announced at 4 p.m.
