First Columbia is excited to announce The Waterfront has been the chosen destination for the 2022 Rockin' on the River. The free outdoor music concert series returns to Downtown Troy and the banks of the Hudson River this summer with dates including: July 20th, August 3rd, 17th, & 30th from 5:30-8:30 p.m., weather permitting. Vendors local to downtown Troy and the River Street Market will have food and drink for sale alongside information tables from area nonprofit organizations and more. The schedule will include: July 20: Troy rock trio Super 400 headlines the return of one of the Capital Region’s best and longest-running outdoor music series. Known far and wide for telekinetic jams and big love, Super 400 have graced the Rockin’ On The River stage many times since their formation in 1996, and are the perfect choice to play the first show in the series since 2019. Blue Machine will open the show. August 3: Rockin’ On The River at The Waterfront goes country on with reigning Times Union Reader’s Poll winner for Best Local Band Skeeter Creek playing the hits all evening long. The Luggnuts will open. August 17: Hear some of the best up-and-coming alternative sounds from the Green Mountain State when Saints & Liars, a five-piece Americana band blending their own variants of country, folk, bluegrass, and rock, takes the stage. Wild Leek River opens the show. August 31: The series concludes with upstate New York favorites Hanzolo, a seven-piece band that touts an explosive and emotional sound mixing soul, jazz, rock, and funk that has been likened to table butter because it’s soft enough to spread but hard enough to keep its shape. IAMDYNAMITE will precede them on the stage. “We’re tremendously excited for Rockin’ On The River to return with four shows in 2022 at a new location at The Waterfront,” said Geoff Brault, Executive Director, Downtown Troy Business Improvement District. “Since the event was last held, there’s been so much investment in The Waterfront district, and we can’t wait to show off all the improvements and amenities that this area has to offer. And since it’s such a short walk from one end of the downtown district to the other, it’s easy to enjoy great shopping before the show, and fine food and drink after.”
“The Waterfront is the place to be on Wednesday nights this summer,” said Maria Decker, Manager, River Street Market. “We’re thrilled to host Rockin’ On The River outside our space on the banks of the Hudson and showcase the great music, food, drink, and more that you can only experience in downtown Troy.” Rockin’ On The River at The Waterfront takes place outdoors at 433 River Street in downtown Troy. Free parking is available on-street in designated areas and throughout the district, with several lots and garages all within walking distance of the show. No outside food or drink may be brought into the concert. Coolers, backpacks, bags, containers, and packages are also prohibited. No pets or animals allowed, except for ADA-defined service animals.
